Tybee Beautification Project 2023-2025
Through a series of grants from the City of Tybee, I developed multiple public murals as part of the Tybee Beautification Project, depicting the indigo plant and dyeing patterns inspired by West African Yoruba design traditions. These works connect to the Gullah Geechee heritage and the history of indigo cultivation in the American South. In parallel, I organized a community indigo festival featuring workshops, food, and live music, where local families participated in hands-on dyeing activities while learning about the cultural and historical significance of indigo.
